Not all Higher Education makes me want to barf...

Due to the age of one of our munchkins, we talk about colleges in our house...its a few years down the road, but no time like the present to put in my 2 cents.

This is one school I would gladly send my child - Hillsdale College. This institution preaches, yes, PREACHES, liberty - independence - Constitutional Law - America....EVERY student HAS to take Western Civilization, The Constitution and American History.

This school also DOES NOT TAKE ANY - ANY ANY ANY - FEDERAL or STATE TAXPAYER BACKED MONIES.... NOTHING.

If you do not get this publication - CLICK HERE - You need to! Its Free, Its Fabulous, Its about Freedom.

I have no affiliation with this school - I take no money from them - They dont even know I exist :) I am giving them props because I believe in them.

Sounds like a good college. I picked mine based on location and size mainly, and I'm glad I did, but had there been a college like Hillsdale around I probably would've gone.

I tell this to everyone I know who is going to college or has a kid going to college: find out which CLEP tests they accept, and which ones apply to your major. I think the average college will take up to 30 hours (two semesters worth) of CLEP tests. I took 15 hours and could've taken more, but unfortunately I didn't.

Hey Pearls (love that tag)

I used to be a Hillsdale fan too. Read Imprimis every month and all. But seems to me that in the past couple of years, they went neocon warmongering. If you get Imprimis, you can follow that progression. Articles from prominent neocons instead of articles from true liberty-lovers. At least, that's how it seems to me.

Still a good school, I think, maybe its just Imprimis that changed.

Where ever the kids go, it would be good if you could convince them to study something that results in a marketable skill. I have not found my liberal arts degree to be of much benefit over the years.

My kiddos (if they go at all) will most likely stay local. I'll just have to do my best to prepare them to counteract the left wing nutjob professors.....
