What will Texas do?

Well, the first person has died in the US from Swine Flu (Israel is refusing to call it that and is calling it Mexican Flu, which I find funny....)

I do not find it funny that baby, almost 2 years old, has died. What is even more serious is that he was an illegal baby who came across the border from Mexico.

What is Texas going to do when people are dying in Mexico and people recover over here? They are going to flood Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Its a DUH question....of course they are going to come here and they will overwhelm and cripple our system. Not only will they spread the disease and shut down hospitals because of sheer numbers - hospitals that will not be able to take those people around here that LIVE here....Who is going to pay for their hospital bills?

With the open borders that the Department of Homeland Security think are no big deal, the virus will spread quickly - more so than before - because of the nature of illegal crossing. They cross in groups, they are secretive in that it will be hard to know where to find people that have been potentially infected and when illegals get here they disband and all go their own ways carrying what could be the virus.

So - what is Texas going to do? DHS is going to do NOTHING....It is up to Texas to protect itself - what is Texas going to do?

Prepping Pay-off

Here is where prepping pays off. I am off this morning to get a few items on my list in case there is an extended "home stay" at my house.

There is nothing IMMEDIATE about what is on my list, in fact, I have everything on my list already.... Just a few more wouldnt hurt.

In prepping, I have taken care of my family so that if we woke one day and couldnt leave the house or chose to stay home for an extended period of time, we would be fine - FINE - with more to share with family or those in need.

Wait - I took a look at my list and I need 1 purple onion - that is the only thing I need to buy that I dont have at my house. I want a fresh one and not some dehydrated onion....

Get what you need today people. Then the decision is yours - you dont HAVE TO get out unless you want too. How many people could be saved from getting infected if people had what they needed and didnt HAVE TO get out to get supplies when this thing is raging?

Swine Flu part 2 (Im a poet and I know it)

MORE PEOPLE SICK WITH SWINE FLU

It really doesnt matter in the midst of a pandemic how it started - that kind of thing can be sorted out after the fact.

Part of being a prepper is to know WHEN to G.O.O.D. (get out of dodge) in certain crisis' and when to stay in.

A prepper is AHEAD of the curve. When Walmart if full of people stocking up before the big ice storm, a prepper is home making hot chocolate, getting excited about the coming snow.

Depending on where you live, this Swine stuff could hit you quickly. It has been confirmed in Texas and California and so your proximity to those states or border states increases the chances it will be to you shortly.

Get yourself ready now. One of the best places to start is the Godfather himself, Mr. Rawles' website, http://www.survivalblog.com/ with this AVIAN FLU LIST.

I will be going over my lists tonight to see if there is anything I need to make sure I have at the house for an extended stay and will probably get those things tomorrow or Monday.

The flu travels fast - it is probably more places in this country than have been reported....

I dont want anyone to panic, but make sure you are prepared. The worst place to be is with a ton of people and I cant think of a worst place than Walmart with people needing something and some of them sick....gives me the shivers just thinking about it.

The nice thing about something like this is you can ride it out fairly easy at home with your electricity and water and only have to fight cabin fever....

Decide for yourself what your point will be in regards to when you decide you are home bound. Mine personally is the point when I hear someone in the City has it and it depends on how they got it....if they just got off a flight from Mexico, I might give it 1 more day - if they have no idea how he got it, I will be home....But thats just me and my decision is fluid and may change as information changes....

And just as easy, this thing could just die out.....and if so - Thank You, God. And I will not be embarrassed by telling yall to be prepared....

Nod to MD Creekmore - although I hope the comments were tongue and cheek and not serious in regards to the redistribution of wealth and increasing welfare.... Those comments were the reason I decided to make a post here and not give my 2 cents worth there (and believe me, its a bargain at 2 cents ;)

Two thoughts when I read this article....



1. Would hate to see BO waste this opportunity to grab control of the entire food system....what a waste to let this one pass him by - but unfortunately, I dont think he is ready for the task....yet....because I believe once he grabs banks, private industry, the food is the next thing to conquer and everyone officially becomes SLAVES.



2. My second thought was that with the 3 strains mixed and crossed and then spread to humans seems a little unbelievable. So, sad to say, tin foil hat firmly affixed, I wonder if this strain had any help.... Just a little test in an area that wouldnt attract too much attention, is in turmoil and would be easy to believe as contributing to the problem due to a lack of hygiene and sanitation.



Adding food storage in order to be able to NOT LEAVE YOUR HOME FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME is another excellent reason....



Keep at it people - Pray, Praise, Prepare....and for goodness sake, quit kissing Pigs....

A New MUST HAVE for the Bunker....


This stuff is awesome - The label says its a "Hazelnut Spread with Skim Milk & Cocoa" and it also says that its "Spreadably Delicious" and may I say - YES IT IS....


You do not refrigerate or microwave, so once you open it, well, its just fine :) And did I mention how fabulous it tastes? I actually havent spread it on anything yet, just seem to be only using a plastic spoon to scoop as needed and that seems to be more and more lately, which could pose a problem.


The back label says a serving is 2T (armatures, they obviously need a bigger spoon) and it has 11g of fat, 0 cholesterol, 22 g. of carbs (only 1 of fiber) and 3 g of protein.


This may be one of those items that is kept for emotional lifts - and it would be a great one as it doesnt melt, need refrigeration and just down right tastes fabulous.


I have not been paid to endorse this product - I wouldnt turn it down if they threw me some freebie coupons for the stuff....but this week, its on sale at Target for $2.50 a jar. So I wont be buying cases, but I may grab about $10 worth :)

This story: Acting CFO for Freddie Mac apparently commits suicide

The story does not state whether he had a wife and/or kids. I am sure he has those that love him and for their loss I am so sorry.

Suicide breaks my heart because someone decides to die because whatever is coming, whatever they fear is worse - WORSE.

It couldnt be that Freddie was being held accountable - they are getting a free pass from the Government and the Media. Ask AIG how it feels to be in the cross-hairs - Freddie Mac has been able to totally skate.

So - if it wasnt the pressure he was enduring - it had to be something he feared coming.... Something that he knew because of his position.

Fannie and Freddie hold 52% of ALL MORTGAGES in the COUNTRY.

50% of Freddie's PRIME (those are the best) MORTGAGES are in arrears - meaning they arent paying and heading towards foreclosure. Wonder how many SUBPRIME are already there?

I take this to mean that BO can spend all he wants - Zombies can start raging - its Fannie and Freddie that WILL bring down this Country.

When 1/2 of all mortgages go under and when China fully decides that copper is better than the dollar - we are through - WAIT - we are almost there....

People - I hate clanging this bell - I really do - but when was the last time you were in a store? What did you buy? Buy all the crap you want, but add to it food stuffs that can keep your family fed while times are unsafe.

Do you own a gun? Do you know how to use it? Do you have ammunition to make it more than a paperweight?

Do you know what to do in an emergency? One is coming - there are some basic things that are the same for ALL emergencies - water - food - shelter - Have you thought about your plan?

Anyway - you wouldnt think a topic like "Torture" would bring out the warm and fuzzies in me, but it has - well, basically, the comments section has. Mostly because there has been major disagreement without discord.

We do not agree - we have been civil - we have tried to be persuasive and we have remained kind and supportive to those that hold a different view.

DHS wouldnt believe us "Right Wing Extremists" had it in us :)

Still thinking on this - reviewing the positions taken on the other side.... To just disregard out of hand because I happen to not agree would be foolish - its in challenging ourselves that we grow or at least know why we believe something we believe.

183 times.....

I am sure by now we have all heard about how the Mastermind of the 9/11 attacks was waterboarded 183 times in March of 2003. Sucks to be him. Really, that March must have been a nightmare.... And 183 times is a along time - I mean, thats several times a day. Actually, according to my calculater it is pretty much 6 times a day.

I wonder if after the 100th time, he realized that they werent really going to kill him, so it just didnt bother him so much. Do you realize how clean his ears and hair must have been and how pruney his fingers were?

And now I hear that a bunch of people are really upset about it and want those that did it prosecuted. I mean, they are really REALLY mad.... So you know what? In all my Solomon Wisdom I have come to a conclusion.....

If those people that are so upset THINK THAT THEY ARE ABOVE THOSE THAT LOST FAMILY on 9/11, then they can have their way. I havent actually talked with anyone that has lost someone that day and havent heard any news reports. I do know that my dad and brother were scuba diving IN THE RED SEA, for the love, that day and it was a really REALLY worrisome several days until they could get off the boat and pretty much rushed/smuggled out of Egypt to the UK and then back home.

I have a feeling that those that lost someone on 9/11 just casually looked at the front page to see how many times this guy "thought" he was going to die drowning and then muttered something along the lines of "I wish my loved one could have ONLY THOUGHT they were dying" and tossed the paper on the recycle heap or better yet, into the fire.

And in regards to torture - if we keep wetting it down, eventually sitting in a cell will constitute that - hell, I think a cardboard paper cut counts as that....

Do not forget what this man did and what he must know as you look at what our Country did to keep you safe. If you do not like what it did, then may I assume you are volunteering your child or husband or wife to die first before mine in the next attack because honestly, deep down, I cheer these men and women who do this and know that the only way they can is to keep THE END GOAL in mind.

Of cours Our President cares about the Earth....

BO is flying to Iowa to give a speech about how to save our Earth.... Dont say he doesnt care....

In response to my previous post about the explosion of volunteering for BO's new plan this arrived in the comments:

Another thing that puzzles me. How can you be a volunteer for Obama Youth Group if you get PAID? That's not volunteer, that's employee.


Who says Common Sense is dead - seems that most America has it - it just seems to be lacking in D.C. and those that support that Depraved Community there (see what I did "DC" and "Depraved Community both have DC)..... I know, bless my heart....

Hopes this new Program doesnt drown kids off a bridge....

So today the Big O is supposed to sign the bill that expands AmeriCorps and has been renamed after Edward Kennedy.


I know there are going to be those out there that equate this with Hitler's Youth so thats where I went first - good ole Wikipedia to get an overview to see if I saw any similarities.


Hitler's Youth were a paramilitary kids club, so to speak. It was voluntary and had about 1000 kids when it started which then jumped to 5000, 25,000, 150,000 and then over 2 million. When all was said and done, all other kids clubs, including the Boy Scouts had been outlawed and absorbed into Hitler's Youth and it was no longer voluntary, but mandatory; millions of Jews were dead, a country was destroyed and kids who were trained as warrior/weapons were left out in the cold, supposed to go back to playing with marbles, I guess.....


But National and Community Service Program is nothing like Hitler's program if you only look at the military part of Hitler's Youth. There is none of that in BO's program - of course not....


But if you read just the press release from yesterday - even the short version - its creepy. The long version can be found HERE.


Here is my Creepy List:

1 - All oversight of this program is through a federal agency called CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE. In the detailed account of this program, it is referred to as "THE CORPORATION". I do not like this subtle perceived mixing of public and private. Like they are trying to get me or worse, my kids, used to the Government being involved in "Corporations."


2. They are starting YOUNG - 6th grade - thats 12 years old..... They have programs for these kids during SCHOOL YEAR as well as during the SUMMER - 100 hours during the summer.... They wear these little Tshirts that have these emblems on them - all official, governmental like. Not just AMERICORPS emblazoned across their chest, but little patch looking decals on the sleeves of these t-shirts....


3. They go after the poor. At least 50% of summer enrollment needs to be from "economically and ethnically diverse backgrounds, including youth from foster care." I have nothing against this thing in general, but this wreaks of raising another impoverished generation who looks to the Government for their handouts instead of taking care of themselves.


4. Americorp volunteers are to be trained and used in disasters.....


5. Encourages INTERNATIONAL volunteerism


6. If you give to this program, your contributions retain their tax deduction status. So it seems that not all "charitable" giving is evil - its good to give charity to a government "corporation" that does nonprofit work, that also gets your tax dollars....did that even make sense?


7. Authorizes a Civic Health Assessment comprised of indicators relating to volunteering, voting, charitable giving, and interest in public service in order to evaluate and compare the civic health of communities. This is the last paragraph in the short overview. What this says to me, is that kids, volunteers, old people will be used to rank communities on whether they vote, give or volunteer - probably to determine who to send in to recruit. If they vote, I would think that ACORN would be sent in. If they give, I have no idea who they would send in - maybe the IRS? If they volunteer, I am sure that ACORN would be there for them too... I do not like that neighborhoods would be targeted, which is exactly what this means.




There was a lot more creepiness in the long version - such as the new Faces on the Board of Directors - EPA director, FEMA Administrator, and Secretary of Transportation, as well as others.


Look - I realize that this program has nothing to do with Hitler's Youth, except maybe the play for the minds of kids....ok, and maybe that they both started as VOLUNTARY.....ok, and that they wore little uniforms with badges and such.....ok, and they were initiated by people who believe that the Government should be end-all-be-all to their countries.....but, really, they arent anything alike and you should NEVER look to the Hitler program to see where this one could go....I mean, if you did, that would be like, crazy, CRAZY RIGHT WING EXTREMIST kind of stuff.....ya know? :)


Man, I hope parents wake up to this and DO NOT enroll their kids - but who am I kidding - they are handing out cash and this program preys on those that need it most - retirees and poor kids.... and that is the SLEAZIEST thing of all.

They all rally around LIBERTY....

I chose the word LIBERTY on purpose instead of FREEDOM....

These days FREEDOM seems to run amok with FREE FOR ALL.... LIBERTY imparts a certain RESPONSIBILITY. LIBERTY expects certain things of an individual....

Yesterday at the TEA PARTY, there were a huge mix of people. Some were obviously RELIGIOUS RIGHT - sorry, but they are easy to spot with their women all in skirts, tons of kids and that hair style where I wonder how they get it so curly. Some were gawkers - they brought their lunch, kicked off their shoes and some even had their dogs with them, oh, and they didnt clap or cheer or anything. Some were left - LEFT - although I dont think that word does them justice (Left has gotten such a disgusting connotation). These people were GRANOLA lovers - get my drift? Some were students who I wondered if they knew what was going on and not just heard that there was a rally and that is what you are supposed to do in college.....

People from all over the political spectrum and some not even on it. They all rallied around the same idea - LIBERTY. The people yesterday wanted to be FREE. They want to work and keep their earnings - they want to NOT BE AFRAID OF WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL DO NEXT - they want to garden and farm without all the oppressive rules - they want to EDUCATE their children the way they see fit - they want to go about their lives, AS THEY WISH and be left alone...

They want to PURSUE HAPPINESS the way each and every one of them define that happiness.

Yes, the Tea Parties were about TAXES - but taxes represent YOUR TIME - how many months do you have to work before you are done paying SOCIAL SECURITY. How many of you wish you could take home your ENTIRE PAYCHECK and then YOU decide how to spend and who to help?

I have yet to see a Government agency take care of needs better than a community.

People who identify "Left" tend to view community as small and in terms of "it takes a village" - people "Right" tend to want to be left alone....

This entirely too big government is a threat to both these groups. In this way, both sides can come together around Liberty. Both groups see Government as the enemy - both groups are right....err....correct.




*** I realize that I left out a group of people who take their dole from this Government and dont want anything to change unless they get more.... Well, I consider those people moot because when this Titanic of a Government meets the Iceberg of Economic Reality, it goes down and takes the moochers with it - unless said moochers realize their situation and get in a Lifeboat of Work Ethic.....

Food Storage....

Its been a while....

I have continued to stock and deepen our pantry. One of the most valuable tools I have found is the coupon. I also havent posted about couponing in a while, but I go every week and have not had less than 60% savings since my last post. I average high 60's with a few 70's thrown in - those really make my day.

Yes, I have gotten some crap. It was fun to snack on it with the kids while watching movies over Spring Break. I know some of you moms are absolutely appalled at me feeding my kids crap, but sometimes its just nice to have a Totinos Pizza Roll....or two....or three :) And since I got each box for 35 cents, it was cheap crap too!

Anyway - I now have enough shampoo and toothpaste for a year, if not longer as well as deodorant. The coupons have allowed me to stock up when things are on sale so some weeks, my cart may be mostly toiletries and at other times cereals or even sugar (real sugar, people).

If you are new to couponing, give it a little bit of time. You need time to stock up on your coupons and time for the stores to cycle through their sales. I only use my coupons at 1 store in order to save myself time - I dont want to go through a million circulars figuring out who has the very best price with or without the double coupons, not to mention drive to each of these stores.... And I save myself gas.

I am past the point of needing to take some of my items and repackage them for longer storage - this is a bummer because that seems like work, when buying the food is more fun to me :)

Guess that means that I will begin researching this new project and getting to it - there will obviously be some blog posts on that....

As of today - it is FOOD COOP DAY - yeah!!! That means I get some already taken care of wheat berries and some good meats! If you arent a member of a Food Coop, find one close to you and also check out the Farmers' Markets - they are starting to pop back up with the warmer weather.... These places are valuable sources of info.... Get going.... Its so pretty outside!

House stuff....

For those of you that suffer through my rants in order to see the house progress - I have added new posts and have back dated them so they dont pop up first.





I have done this so I can keep track of when something happened on the house for future scrapbooking - I am a chick afterall ;)






We have finished the electrical, plumbing and the framing should be judged tomorrow (inspected) and we anticipate it passing also. We then insulate the few interior walls we have and then drywall is ready to go in...





It seems like this has been a long time coming, but with a few set backs, it was bound to happen. We have been pleased with the work and are really not over budget in most areas. This has allowed us to keep the costs down. This economy hasnt hurt us either - people are wanting work and it really is a buyer's market.








I would rave about every single one of our subs and would use them again.... They have been great people. If you are building close and want some names, just contact me :)

Party like its 1773 - OKC Tea Party



It was a great day. It was just an absolutely wonderful day! Below are some pics from the Oklahoma City Tea Party and then a brief commentary....



















I tried to get a good picture of the large number of people and it was impossible. The crowd was respectful and just a joy to be in. I keep myself towards the back - checking things out and it was a great feeling. The beautiful weather and lush green grass didnt hurt.


Notice all the "DONT TREAD ON ME" flags - if you dont count the smaller hand held American Flags, the Gadsden Flags were more numerous - I thought that was excellent.


The posters were by and large respectful and funny. There were very few inappropriate posters or those in attendance.


The OKC Tea Party was hoping to have about 1500 in attendance. Estimates hit the attendance at 4000 to 5000. EXCELLENT!!!!!
Since OK put the dome on the Capitol, its just a down right beautiful building...beautiful....

I could have wept when we all sang the Star Spangled Banner at the opening....

OH MY FREAKING WORD....

I had to use FREAKING because my mother reads my blog - {{kicking myself for ever telling her I have a blog because sometimes I need to let my freak flag fly and use the F-word}}

Anyway - just finished reading the Homeland Security report - yeah, yeah, I posted without reading the entire thing and its a good thing I did because now I am pissed! PISSED with a CAPITAL - P!!!

What I want to know is where is the report on the Left wing nuts? The ones that spike trees, burn houses, break into medical labs? Where is that report? I bet it doesnt even occur to them to have a report on LEFT NUTS because the Government IS Left Nuts!!!!

It seems that if I like my gun then I seem to be an enemy of the Government and probably a Racist too... Do these people even read what they write? Probably not....

And you need to watch out for those Veterans because when they come back from Iraq, they would be easy pickins to get to join a racist, anti-Government group....

It all comes back to Tim McVeigh doesnt it? Damn him....I know he was pissed and I know he was frustrated, but his actions are inexcusable. Even those that the Government terms Right Wing Extremists realizes this.... You dont take out your frustrations on innocent people - ESPECIALLY INNOCENT CHILDREN...The term "Right Wing Extremist" used to be all sugar coated and brought visions of flowers and puppies until him....

If this report werent so infuriating, it would be laughable - they lump EVERYONE that doesnt agree with the Government in with McVeigh - stupid Government.... Its an "Either / Or" kind of thing - No wonder they have to cheat and steal elections because their ideas and arguments are ridiculous - no wonder they have to buy votes and keep people on welfare - no wonder they have to use intimidation, bribery, and probably force to keep themselves in power....

What they dont realize is that there are more people to be labeled by this report than those doing the labeling.... They drew a line in the dirt, but didnt realize that when they did, they backed themselves right off the cliff.....

First it was Missouri that had a list of "traits" that might make someone not behave in a manner that the Government would like.

Now its Homeland Security that has its own list.... RIGHT HERE....

But this time its different.

You see, basically, if you do not like something the Government is doing, you are labeled an Extremist.

If you go to a Tea Party....If you think that States have more rights according to the Constitution than they presently enjoy.... If you just dont like the color of Obama's tie, you could be labeled an Extremist.

This report by Homeland Security isnt the same Homeland Security that gave everyone warm fuzzies after 9/11. It is now a weapon to be used by the current administration. This report isnt for anyone's information - its for those that see themselves listed inside this report. It is a WARNING.

It is a subtle threat - THREAT. What this Government is now telling you if you do not agree with them is that they view you as an enemy. There is no disagreement with this Administration.

As it happens, I am currently reading Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler - The Age of Social Catastrophe by Robert Gellately. Chills go up and down my spine when I read some of the words of Lenin. There is an eerie resemblance to both Lenin and Hitler. Both extremes find common ground in our current Administration - especially our President. Lenin and the Bolshevik Revolution both upheld the worker - the peasant - the UNIONS....against those that were considered evil - educated, entrepreneurial....teachers, farmers, lawyers, doctors, shop owners, store clerks.... May history not repeat itself because the White Army was destroyed and then the Red Army through Red Terror turned on its own supporters. What the workers thought they were getting with Lenin, when they let him destroy others, Lenin eventually turned on them... His similarity to Hitler lies in Hitler's belief that Government was the end-all, be-all....

People, decide now what you believe. Decide what is right and wrong and hold to those truths and protect them in other groups that you may not entirely agree. If something is wrong - its wrong to do to someone else.... If the tax is oppressive, then it should not be done even if its done to the smokers and I dont smoke. I should stand with the smokers....although I may stand a ways off so the smoke doesnt make my hair stink ;)

We will soon realize that what we agree on, is stronger and more powerful than what we find that we dont agree...

We will come to realize that there is the WACKED OUT LEFT and everyone else.... It seems now that I have more in common with Ralph Nader than my Government - that is a weird thought.

Hit up a Tea Party tomorrow.... But know, that to do so may mean that "someone" finds out - that the Government may add you to a list. But you know what? Their list is going to be getting longer and longer - eventually there will be more on Their List than not and then the Government should be afraid because We The People will take the power back....

How I was wrong about the Military....

In a previous post, I made the comment that the only thing the Government does right is the Military....



Well.....upon further review, I think I was wrong.....



Just give me a minute my Camo Wearing Friends.....



The Government isnt the reason the Military does an exceptional job. The Military does its job IN SPITE of the Government.



The Military is given crap for pay, less than they need and most definitely, less than they deserve in many a combat situation. But what happens? Our Military kicks butt. They do an exceptional job...



They have the most difficult job of killing insurgents in Iraq and making friends of children. They have to be ever vigilant, but take time to play, pass out candy and smile to a child.


This time they took out 3 Pirates and saved a Captain that exchanged himself for those of his crew that were captured. Navy Seals did their job AMAZINGLY well! Bless their hearts that they had to wait on the President to let them do their jobs, but when given the "Go" - they were exceptional - EXCEPTIONAL.



My question is WHY? Why do men and women risk their lives for a Government with which they may not agree? Because they dont swear to uphold the Government, but the Constitution.


More than any other block of people, the Military know their Constitution - they read it every year at least once.


So, again, I admit that I WAS WRONG - the Military ROCKS - R.O.C.K.S. - and it does so DESPITE the Government....this Government that at times is Hostile, Condescending and Rude to these Amazing people that serve their Country and devote their lives, their fortunes and their Honor to the Constitution of these United States.


If you havent thanked someone in the Military - do it today....


And hit up a Tea Party on Wednesday - YOU KNOW YOU WANT TOO....SO DO IT!!!

Truck...meet bottom of the Cliff....

There was a point to turn everything around. It was A LOOONNNNNGGGGG time ago - not anytime in recent memory.


We find ourselves in this current Country no where near the original intent created by the Founding Fathers.


It feels sometimes that Patriots are holding onto the Truck (euphemism for this Country) by the back bumper and all tires have already gone off the cliff and we are holding on for dear life. We want so desperately to pull it back up....with all our might and purpose we want to pull the truck off the cliff.


I just dont see how.... And you know what? Its starting to hurt my hands and not to mention my back... How are you feeling?


I am letting go....figuratively and almost literally. I am done.... I say throw this truck off the cliff. This truck is not driveable, it doesnt do anything helpful.... Throw this thing off the cliff and lets start over with another Truck.



The Truck was a fabulous truck - strong, true, reliable.... I want another Truck just like the one we had, so redesigning isnt the problem or even wanted.

Let Washington seize control of everything they possibly want - they wont hold onto it long.... And every time they grab an industry or force out an executive.... Every time they give Fannie and Freddie executives bonus' that are MUCH LARGER THAN AIG.... Every time they DO NOT let Banks give back the TARP monies.... Every time.... EVERY TIME they do something like this, they actually loose more and more control.

They are losing control. Every time they do this people are growing angrier and angrier. And even though we do not "feel" it, the power and control RESTS WITH WE THE PEOPLE. It does.

We The People have the power to throw them out of Washington. And I am not waiting to vote next year. I am talking NOW. People walking on Washington and on their State Capitals nationwide can force out these evil men.

We can PEACEFULLY and FORCEFULLY make these men leave their offices.

We hold the power - Dont ever forget that....

And its happening. The Tea Parties are the beginning - they arent the end.... But they are an excellent EXCELLENT start!

Find one near you and swell their numbers - make those that govern you fear you.

How does your State's Constitution stack up?

Have you read your state's Constitution?

I have....I figure, with the crap that goes on in Washington....the way those boobs ignore We The People, I am going to try to reach my local ole boys and have them yank Washington's chain. I figure, if the States tell Washington a thing or two, they are more apt to listen...

So I started with my State's Constitution. I found a few interesting things.... no, amend that...I found some downright AWESOME things...

First, right off the bat, the State's Preamble invokes The Almighty God - right on! If ever we needed the Almighty, I am thinking the time is coming, if not already in our laps.

Our 1st Article states that the Supreme law of the land is the U.S. Constitution. Yeah baby as well as stating that Education in the State of Oklahoma will be taught in English.

The Bill of Rights in Oklahoma has a great phrase in addition to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" but also states "and the enjoyment of the gains of their own industry." I am thinking that the State of Oklahoma is letting the Feds walk all over my right to the gains of my own industry - how about yall - feeling walked on?

In regards to Habeas Corpus (which we all know has been suspended at certain times) our Constitution states:

SECTION II‑10
Habeas corpus ‑ Suspension.
The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall never be suspended by the authorities of this State.


I know it says "this State" and so all yall pessimists would say that the Feds will just suspend it....well, if they do, a huge prob would arise in this here State.

Guns:

Bearing arms ‑ Carrying weapons.
The right of a citizen to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person, or property, or in aid of the civil power, when thereunto legally summoned, shall never be prohibited; but nothing herein contained shall prevent the Legislature from regulating the carrying of weapons.


We have Conceal Carry here, but it seems that Civil Authorities can ask Citizens, no command Citizens, to participate in an armed excursion....Interesting. I wonder if it has ever been used - that may be a blog post after some research.... Man, that would be a conversation I would love to hear....Sir, can you shoot this bad guy for me :)

This sucks (The "Federal Part"):

SECTION I‑1
Supreme law of land.
The State of Oklahoma is an inseparable part of the Federal Union, and the Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the land.


Since they drafted this Constitution in 1906, post-Civil War and the establishment of Oklahoma was requested by Congress, I understand why this language is in there.... Luckily for us, we change our Constitution fairly regularly....we passed Term Limits for our State people, Marriage for a man/woman and that we wouldnt recognize any other State's license if its different than this description as well as a couple of others since I came to this State in 1988, so overturning this one should be easy enough if people are so moved....

The State of Oklahoma also is the only State whose Constitution protects the parents' right to homeschool their child. It seems that one of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention here in Oklahoma had 2 little "fellows" who lived too far from school to walk and so their mother tutored them 4 hours every day. It was his suggestion in regards to the language of the Article that was adopted.

Section 4, Article 13 states the State "shall" provide education compulsory attendance at some public or other school, unless other means of education are provided of all children in the State who are sound in mind and body, between the ages of eight and sixteen, for at least three months each year

America - One Big SURVIVORS CLUB....

I am a voracious reader - the Hubs and I both are.... I usually have several books going at one time - usually one to teach me something, another to teach me something, one to challenge me mentally and an entertaining/easy one that makes me drift to someplace else.

One of the books I am currently reading is The Survivors Club by Ben Sherwood.

I am not finished in the least, but this one paragraph I had to share...

Lee Clark, a sociologist at Rutgers University, has examined many potentially panic-inducing situations. Its a widespread misconception, he says, that in fires and other conflagrations, the rules of society crumble and "our true animalistic" selves come forth. "I'm no Pollyanna," he goes on. That kind of "self-interested bastard" behavior definitely exists in the world. But in times of hazard, he argues, "this other human nature kicks in." Social values like altruism are heightened in emergencies not lessened. "After five decades of studying scores of disasters such as flood, earthquakes and tornadoes," he writes, "one of the strongest findings is that people rarely lose control." In fact, "the more consistent pattern is that people bind together in the aftermath of disasters."

It is a typical expectation of "Survivalists" that in the coming times when emergency happens or SHTF, that society will cease and people will become animals. I have had a hard time believing this stance....I have spoken to my belief in earlier posts....

This isnt to say that there will not be those that just become almost inhuman or those that are out to rob, rape and pillage....but the MAJORITY of people will not become this and do not become this.....

To give this Majority the benefit of the doubt, to see them as they are and not what I fear, puts me personally in a place to be more willing to offer charity. To emotionally keep myself on level ground. It takes the stress and anguish of feeling like its me against the world - instead its US against a few....

This Country is heading for disaster. If things do not go completely down into the crapper, there are plenty of people out there who will be in trouble. With Obama's plan to reduce tax deductions given to charities, charities are running scared. The people who depend on these charities are scared.

I am first to admit, I like deducting what I give to my church and the personal causes and funds I prefer. But will I cease to give because I dont get a tax write off? No I will not (I do believe that is what Obama is counting on). But I can guarantee you this - I will aggressively pursue those institutions that use their money the wisest as well as those institutions that help as well as educate and educate in a way that I encourage.....those that get people to work, teach a skill and give them lives - not just give them a handout.

I am not alone either - more are like me than arent....Obama may have won this little tax battle, but ultimately he will lose the war....in so many more ways than just one.... You see, Survivor is so much more than just living.... Its thriving under circumstances that cause others to give up or perish. It means continuing to do what is right and what needs to be done despite unimaginable circumstances. It means that just enduring is not an option - Survivors choose to LIVE and to LIVE with all that word entails.

And you know what? America is full of Survivalists - some just dont know it yet....

Book Review - yeah, I was the last person to read The Patriot...

I have read A TON of books since my last "Book Review" but this one deserves a few words.

Just finished The Patriot by James Wesley, Rawles. It took awhile as my Hubs grabbed it first, passed it to a friend, who passed it to his wife, who I think passed it to a neighbor. All in all it was about a month before I got it back....I was pretty impressed with how many read it in just a couple weeks. The friend that my husband passed it to, turned around and bought several copies to reread and pass around as well.... Anyhoo, I did not read the brand NEW edition, but the one right before....

On a side note, I went to Barnes and Noble to get Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged and right next to it (actually about 3 books down) was The Patriot with its new book cover any everything. Couldnt believe this "fringe" book would be in such a mainstream store and a left leaning one at that....

So here is my review....

In a nutshell, it is a "How To" manual wrapped in a story and dialogue. I knew that going in to the read and so the DETAILEDNESS (look at me making up words) of the descriptions of guns, cars, and radio equipment didnt annoy me like it would have if I had expected just a straight read.

It was informative and the author definitely knew his audience and to whom he is writing. It is something that everyone who is concerned with the direction of this Country and upcoming events should read....

I did question that if the Crunch was world wide, how did the UN find men, soldiers, equipment to mount an invasion into North America to subdue the United States as well as Canada....or at least attempt it ;)

I liked the ending with the Constitutionalists Party and the Libertarian Party but with the 2 party system we will end up at the same point sometime in the future, even though the distant future....we need a strong 3rd party. Competition works best in 3's, not 2's.

All that said....It had a personal affect on me (or is it effect....or is it both?) About 4 pages into the book there is a line that stuck with me the entire time.....It struck me so much so that I had to put the book down immediately and didnt come back to it until the next day. Mr. Rawles was describing how people were leaving to "double up" and then he wrote: "We never saw them again."

I am one of those people who internalized just about everything I read, see or hear....I ask myself questions in the neighborhood of "would you do that?" "how would you react?" "what would I do differently?"

"We never saw them again."..... It stuck with me and it stuck with me DEEP....

Are you ready to say "goodbye" to the neighbors with which you have cookouts? What about the neighbors whose kids play football in your front yard? What about the family that sits behind you at Church every Sunday?

Are you ready for the daily reminder that these people are no longer in your life? For the rest of the book, it was The Anderson's Farm.....The Anderson's Barn.....

Another question I kept asking myself was "How far will you go?" Will you raise your kids in the forest in active defiance/Revolution? Will you quietly provide support from your home to those actively fighting? What are you willing to learn or spend now to prepare for "What if?"

I plan on buying this next edition on April 8th through Amazon as requested by Mr. Rawles. I will go through the book again, this time with a highlighter. I will continue to pass along my very worn copy I just read.
