I hate to say I told you so Bug Killer, but you know I did...

This was so last year, but Bug Killer (heretofore referred to as BK) and I were having our own little rantfest about unions... (Please do not post telling me how fab they are, how they did this/that, how if we didnt have them little children would still be ground up in the beef - a Upton Sinclair reference, The Jungle - we didnt / dont need the USDA, FREE MARKET would have taken care of the disgusting meat companies...I digress)...

ANYWAY, I told BK that the unions would be the death of the automakers and that the last car company standing would be FORD. YEAH BABY....after the news today about the Big 3, I feel a little personal pat on the back to myself is in order.

WHY FORD? They have the most to lose. They are still a FAMILY business with FAMILY deeply involved. I felt they would be the first to break the back of the union if push came to shove. I also believe that Mr. Ford's personal work ethics are is still there, even faintly.

Did you know they were the last car company to offer credit? Mr. Ford believed that if you couldnt afford it, you shouldnt buy it and he didnt want to saddle his customers with debt - HOW REFRESHING...

But FORD isnt riding high just yet...they have union obligations that unless the unions make concessions on, the only way out is through bankruptcy. I still say that is their best option.

Dont be fooled into believing that the Senate was really appalled at the Big 3's last meeting with the private jets. They are stalling - stalling for the BOA (Barack Obama Administration). The Senate OWES the unions and dont think for one minute that they arent going to give the Big 3 money. They will just to appease the unions. They have ALWAYS planned to give them the money.

Also, dont be fooled with the "union concessions"....they have given a little, but they will need to give ALOT. Paid for NOT working? Dont fly your USA flag and preach about American made when you are paid for NOT working....how UNAMERICAN is that? I feel like kicking the automakers for agreeing to this crap and kicking the unions for asking for it.

Unions are making a "scene" by flying union bosses in from all over the country - they fly, but CEO's are driving...interesting.

This fiasco is far from over and YOUR money will be handed to them in January or later this year. YOUR money to workers to be paid for NOT working....

Now, I hope I have poked you with a stick enough for you to call your Congressmen(chicks) and your Senators and tell them NO WAY on this thing....Make 'em file for bankruptcy. Someone has to blink in this thing and I would love to see Ford call the union's bluff and file.

GO FORD GO FORD GO FORD - if they filed, it might make me brake a rule of mine and BUY a NEW truck and not one a few years old.
