Food Storage....

Its been a while....

I have continued to stock and deepen our pantry. One of the most valuable tools I have found is the coupon. I also havent posted about couponing in a while, but I go every week and have not had less than 60% savings since my last post. I average high 60's with a few 70's thrown in - those really make my day.

Yes, I have gotten some crap. It was fun to snack on it with the kids while watching movies over Spring Break. I know some of you moms are absolutely appalled at me feeding my kids crap, but sometimes its just nice to have a Totinos Pizza Roll....or two....or three :) And since I got each box for 35 cents, it was cheap crap too!

Anyway - I now have enough shampoo and toothpaste for a year, if not longer as well as deodorant. The coupons have allowed me to stock up when things are on sale so some weeks, my cart may be mostly toiletries and at other times cereals or even sugar (real sugar, people).

If you are new to couponing, give it a little bit of time. You need time to stock up on your coupons and time for the stores to cycle through their sales. I only use my coupons at 1 store in order to save myself time - I dont want to go through a million circulars figuring out who has the very best price with or without the double coupons, not to mention drive to each of these stores.... And I save myself gas.

I am past the point of needing to take some of my items and repackage them for longer storage - this is a bummer because that seems like work, when buying the food is more fun to me :)

Guess that means that I will begin researching this new project and getting to it - there will obviously be some blog posts on that....

As of today - it is FOOD COOP DAY - yeah!!! That means I get some already taken care of wheat berries and some good meats! If you arent a member of a Food Coop, find one close to you and also check out the Farmers' Markets - they are starting to pop back up with the warmer weather.... These places are valuable sources of info.... Get going.... Its so pretty outside!

Pray - Praise - Prepare

If you have a Walmart Super Center or Neighborhood Market around they will price match anyone in the area. They will honor the coupons and sale ads.

I hate pizza rolls, Husband loves them. My weakness (at least this week) is Marcona Almonds - little "fat bombs" and I can't even pretend it's healthy fat, since the almonds are FRIED!!!! :)

I actually like to repackage. I feel so industrious.

Thanks for being you and being around. Peace out.

Bit - you are absolutely correct, but then I would have to expect them to change the prices and its just too much trouble - besides, they dont double coupons and I just LOVE getting $2 off so many item!

Meadowlark - Will have to try those - LOVE almonds and fried too? How could those NOT be good? I will give repackaging a good try - have yet to do it, so shouldnt gripe....yet :)

Email if you need anything - Love hearing from you!
