I vote that AIG gets to keep its bonuses! Yeah, you read that right....

Dont be fooled people - the Government is showing you something shiny in one hand - namely the AIG bonuses that ARE PERFECTLY LEGAL while taking your money with the other.

They are trying to distract you with $165 million in LEGAL BONUSES THAT THE GOVERNMENT KNEW THEY WOULD PAY OUT WHEN THEY GAVE THEM THE MONEY while hoping that you dont get upset with the BILLIONS they are paying out in EARMARKS.

Dont fall for it - Dont get all hot and bothered over shiny TIN when SHINY GOLD is being stolen from you.....Dont HAND THEM GOLD in exchange for TIN....

Its like a book I had as a child in which the child exchanged 1 dollar for 2 quarters who then gave the 2 quarters for 3 dimes down until all he had was 5 pennies and he was so excited. Because he exchanged 1 for 5....

The Government is trying to take your RIGHTEOUS ANGER at all this CRAP and manipulate you into throwing your anger at AIG - when your ANGER - Your RIGHTEOUS ANGER needs to be placed squarely at Congress - Chris Dodd and Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi and Obama and all those disgusting Republicans who put earmarks in the "Stimulus Bill" and then voted AGAINST it....

Dont be fooled - dont trade Righteousness for something shiny - Not this time....NOT EVER AGAIN....

We're on the same wavelength my dear... it's all bread and circuses.

"look this way... here's Octomom and Brangelina and.... IGNORE THE MAN WITH HIS HAND IN YOUR POCKET... and Paris and Rush and blah blah blah ad nauseum"

Oh thank goodness I'm not alone on this! Your right, the government can't start stepping in and changing CONTRACTs that have been in place, they should of read up on what they would be lending towards!
I've said that sooo many times it's all a smoke screen, they don't want us focusing on the his "new" bailout their working on.

AIG? Bonuses? Wasting taxpayer money? Look at this.

Obama received over $100,000 in contributions from AIG during 2008. There are a number of other names there, including McCain and Clinton, but, just sayin'.

It seems a bit off for Obama to scream so loud. Methinks he doth protest too much.

Well, I also want to mention, don't get too caught up in "our party is good, their party is bad". Because in truth, both sides are screwing us, it's just the difference between a kiss and a reach-around.

But if they can keep us distracted with party in-fighting long enough, they'll slip it to us again.

:(

Absolutely - Chris Dodd has taken the most money and the big O is second...

What I also find distasteful - actually downright disgusting the only Republican to NOT put something in the Stimulus was McCain - its the one thing I can say I like about him....

All those others up there are SCUMBAGS....to put in crap and then vote against it knowing you are going to get it and still be able to bitch about it is just disgusting!

Oh, absolutely. I think the lot of them deserve hanging. But the rest of 'em don't seem to be screaming quite as loud as Dodd and Obama. Maybe because they know we aren't all as dumb as they wish we were...

I recall Pres. Bush's excuse was a bit lame, about why the collapse happened. But I do recall his requesting Congress - the same Democrat group leading Congress today - to overhaul the shaky parts, to clean up the irregularities, to address the risky stuff. Only Congress was getting too many contributions and payoffs.

I wonder if CEO Liddy could have sued those that are supposed to get the bonuses in question. I suppose he would have had to sue AIG to suspend or modify the contracts granting the bonuses. Then let the Federal Courts rule on the legality of interfering with private contracts. I suppose Congress would still want to be making the papers with some kind of show-trial and empty posturing.

I can't wait for the people supposed to receive the bonuses to sue the government for redress of grievance. Those trials should cost way more than the 168 million, counting lawyer fees, etc.

If they get away taxing legal bonus they will use it as a precedent to do the same to us. I was told to read a contract be for signing when I was a kid,so voteing for these bills amounts to the samething as signing a contract so what did they expect when they did'nt even read them.
