You wont believe what I thought....

So I see this article:

Yahoo News Story

Its about a Pastor being killed by someone coming into his church and shooting him during the sermon...

So, the first thought that ran through my head was, if there are more of these, "they" will make an easy case for gun control to the Christian Right....

Cynical, I know....

Then the thought came - what if "they" sent the gunman to do this and "they" are planning on killing more Rightwingers in order to pass Gun Control Laws....

Now, I think I am crossing over into Conspiracy, World Trade Tower, JFK lunacy....

And then I read the article....

It seems that no one can establish (as of yet) a connection between the gunman and the pastor....

I am almost disappointed that "they" are getting so predictable....and deadly......

Pray for those affected - Pray for our Country

Praise the One in whose Hands we rest

Prepare for Crisis and what "They" have planned

Pearls I think you're right about stepping into Conspiracy land :)

I'm from the Christian Right and this story actually made me go tell my wife that this is the reason churches should allow people to conceal carry during services. If nothing else we should have a set of folks who are rotated out to carry just in case an unfortunate event like this does occurs.

I know many christians don't believe in killing but I believe the scriptures teach that if you are being attacked (whether that be your person, your family or your possessions) you have the right to defend yourself as long as the attack is not because you are a christian.

I doubt our government is bent so far that it would attack itself like some say. I could be wrong and I have been wrong about many things in the past but I just can't see any plot that would call for organizing the government against the people AND call for that plan to be covered up working. I mean what has the government ever been able to do right? Could evil be the only thing they could do flawlessly, I don't think so.

Anyway, those are just my ramblings so take them as mere opinion :)

Thanks for the food for thought though. Your post always have me evaluating my own opinions and beliefs to either reinforce what I already know or make me change my mind.

'Nuff said: churches especially are crazy for not allowing concealed carry by congregants and minister.
For one, I don't put anything past this government nowadays- even to killing its own people. The latest news about the Flu Virus should be substantiation enough to dispel any myths about ideas our government 'loves' us.
It aggravates me that I find myself becoming mired in conspiracy theories and distrust of my own government, but they're creating it so I guess I can be liberal enough to lay the blame on them.

Everyday Prepper, help me understand your comment "churches should allow people to conceal carry".

Churches don't allow/disallow, that I know of.

And yes, that's why Husband carries everyplace. And reason #378 why I will not go to any Disney property, as they forbid CC even by LEOs.

My pastor(s) know I CC, and if it was an issue, he would have said something. I can only hope that others do in church also- when you reach out to sinners- *GASP*- there might be evil attached!
OF course there is a conspiracy- just not of human design.
Someone is out there and wants to steal, kill and destroy...be prepared.
